[ because when shadow touches anything, it doesn't come alive, it doesn't move or attack. they remain the same because shadow isn't part of the world that sonic speaks about, that earth where him and shadow should have shared their concerns, their loss, and learn that they have one another.

he rolls his eyes at the statue that he's gotten rid of, stepping over any debris on the floor that could trip him. he doesn't know where they are, but he understood most of what they were saying if it didn't make sense.

this place is tied to sonic even though they've never been at a place like this, and it's sonic, he always speaks up about where he's been. this would have been a topic, one he probably wouldn't shut up about, and then amy would have complained about how she wanted to go with him too. ]
